Still Going

Made it to boot camp both Monday and Wednesday. Monday was assessment day - monthly test to see how long it takes to run a mile (not as long as I thought), how many push ups in a minute (as few as I was expecting), how many sit ups in a minute (more on that later). Ro also reviewed my food diary and was, well, less than pleased. She thanked me for my honesty, then said I'd have to do 50 push-ups. "OK, I said... every day?" "Oh, no - right, now." So, at the end of the class, after everything else - 50 push-ups. I was not a happy camper, but I signed up for this, and yeah, I had eaten like crap for a week and a half. So, I sucked it up and did it.

Wednesday I was the only class attendee, and while the personal attention was nice, I'm not sure I can take too much of that level of 'care'. Ended up running two miles, then two sets of trading off running and jumping rope (was supposed to be three sets, but I started wheezing), then three sets of circuits with weighted squats, push ups, jumping jacks and sit ups. These are words I haven't used in at least 10 years. And, I haven't had an alcoholic beverage since Monday, which is saying a lot.

In between, on Tuesday I made it down to the Fitness Center and did a 30 minute stint on the elliptical. Didn't get anything in today, but planning on hitting it again tomorrow. (Today wasn't the day I was planning it to be, since we had to squeeze in a trip to the doc for my son who uses his head like a wrecking ball...)

Haven't seen a huge downward movement in the scale yet, but I'm not moving up either. I know I've got to get my eating under control, so hopefully I can get my stars aligned and start making some business happen.

Road to Recovery

I may be taking the long way around, but I think I'm getting there. Had back-to-back meetings all day today, so no time to work out, but I'm not sure my congestion would have allowed it anyway. Had my standard tuna, triscuts and apple lunch, but somehow a couple of pieces of Halloween candy snuck their way into my lunch bag as well.

Dinner was a work happy hour - does a Guava Habanero cocktail count as two fruit and vegetable servings? That, combined with corn chips and salsa - it's almost something resembling a meal, right?

Took 30+ minutes to get a check, so by the time I picked the kids up from after hours play care (G had another commitment tonight, but it was a bday happy for two coworkers and I really didn't want to miss it), got them home and got them in bed... I just didn't feel like packing in any more calories.

Good news is I'm actually pretty close to my target today; bad news is more than half came from sugar based ingestions. Good thing I started that multi-vitamin...
